Seaside Family House

I enjoyed looking at this beach house which is in (and on the cover of) the latest Inside Out magazine (November/December 2013). The house was decorated as a Christmas feature, however I liked looking at it as it would be on a daily basis - a relaxed and stylish seaside family home. See more here.

Happy New Year

Welcome 2013! I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year break with family and friends. I did and feel refreshed for the exciting new year ahead.
I am back in the office today, however I keep looking out the window looking at the sunny day outside. Hmm, gotta work on that...
To keep with the summer theme and to ease into the working week, here is the home of a pro-surfer, Kieren Perrow and his family in Byron Bay, Australia. Love the minty green wall and the fresh, relaxed vibe of the home.

One of the three luxury boutique hotel  rooms. Yes please.

Welcome to Waiheke Island's The Oyster Inn. Recently opened to the public in the beachy village of Oneroa, Waiheke - doesn't it look amazing?
Take a 40 mins ferry ride from downtown Auckland and you can be dining on the ocean view vernadah, or having a cocktail in the bar or just hanging out. The kitchen is open all day long (the menu looks delicious) and the yummy boutique hotel rooms are available to book from the end of this week. Find out more here.

Ruschmeyer's by King & Grove

This is Ruschmeyer's, a hotel in Montauk, USA by the hotel group, King & Grove. While they have closed for their 2012 summer season, this is good inspiration for us getting ready for our up coming summer time. Evocative of a nautical summer camp, Ruschmeyer's has a cool relaxed vibe and is located on three acres on lakeside woodland. With plenty of activities available, the gorgeous fresh bedrooms and its own 'rum shack', you know you could have a great time here...

Dickebusch Beach House by Koskela

A friend lent me an old issue of Monocle magazine the other day and looking through I came across this beach house holiday rental. Called Dickebusch, this home is located at Patonga, a fishing village located an hour and quarter from Sydney. It was restored and renovated by Russel Koskela and Sasha Titchkopsky of interior design firm, Kosklea and they filled the home with furniture and products that you can buy from their showroom in Sydney. Looks like summer time bliss to me.

New Zealand Beach House

Dick Frizzell Woodgrain fabric from Homebase Collections

Small Steel Table by Conscious Design and Angle Table Lamp by WORKROOM.

Red Rata fabric from Homebase Collections

Homebase Collections' Hoki fabric is used for the drapes.

Here's a nice chilled out beach house based in Waimarama, New Zealand. Spotted via ES Design, most of the fabrics are by Homebase Collections - a New Zealand textile company. They have the Dick Frizzell Woodgrain, Red Rata and Hoki fabrics featured in this beach house. I also noted the white Small Steel Table by Conscious Design and Angle Table Lamps by WORKROOM.
I have profiled Homebase Collections before on CMID (see here), as well as the cool home of the Culy Family and their Seabreeze Beach House (see here and here).
