Moments from a Photo Shoot

Thonet chairs on display - the cl

Today I was out of the office and being an interior stylist on a photo shoot. We were located at the Thonet showroom in Wellington - a great space to work with and surrounded by great furniture to admire in between photo takes. Nice.

The stunning Artek 901 Trolley designed by Alvar Aalto. One day...

An awesome photo shoot perk - taking home the gorgeous flowers.

Another perk - finding awesome objects while you source products. This time it was a Cardinal Bird Whistle - you know you want one.

An Office Lunch Room

We made sure that New Zealand was centred to the wall and very visible!

Contrasting timbers looks effective - American Ash leaner and dark oak stained bar stools

One resolution I plan to take up next year is photographing my interior design work and keeping it up to date! It is just so easy to let it slide as I have many projects this year that I haven't recorded. So it's high time I catch up on this.
To start on the good habit, here is the lunch room for a real estate office that I worked on several months ago. It is yet to be completed, however it is looking great so far.
The staff members are loving the Dairy bar leaner paired with Thonet BST 75 bar stools - creating a great interaction space for several departments to share. The cool wall map completes the picture.

Thonet BST 75 Barstools

I have been working on an office fitout and we are using the classic Thonet BST 75 barstools, which will be placed around a leaner made from Amercian ash, for the staff's lunchroom. The seat will be upholstered in leather to give a luxurious touch and comfort.
Here are the same barstools used in the cool bar called Bar & Co in Helsinki - see the rest of this bistro style bar here.

Hollyford Sofa from Thonet

This is the classy Hollyford sofa from Thonet. My clients and I are looking at a pair of these for their Living Room and to cover in fabric rather than leather. Nice lines and so classic.

Emeco 111 Navy Chairs

The original aluminium Emeco 1006 Navy chair next to the new recycled plastic 111 Navy chair.
Made from 111 Coca Cola bottles and available in Coca Cola Red.
Other colours are Snow, Flint, Grass, Persimmon and Charcoal.
Underneath the seat.

I visited Thonet today to work on some  furniture ideas for a job of mine. While I was there, Russell gave me an update on all the new styles coming soon, one of which is Emeco's collaboration with Coca Cola and their new release of 111 Navy Chair.
Due in store from June, the 111 Navy chair is made from 111 recycled Coca Cola bottles and available in 6 great colours, including Coca Cola Red (of course). It is plastic so great for the outdoors and won't be cold on our bottoms(!) like the aluminium ones have been known to be.
This is such a fantastic and sustainable idea - read more the process and the collaboration between Emeco and Coca Cola here . I look forward to seeing it next month in its recycled plastic flesh.

Product - Tomahawk Campfire Table

I have just ordered this great coffee table for one of my clients. It is called 'Campfire Table' and it is easy to see why.
Inspired by the timeless ritual of human gathering around the fire, Tomek Archer, from Tomahawk Studios, designed this table out of a single length of timber, some clever well-placed connections and a glass top. It is available in ash, walnut, rock maple, black, red and white.

Update: After this posting this post yesterday, I received a lovely  email from Tomek. What a nice guy! I had made a typo so the link to his website wasn't working. All corrected now.
